Tommy Hilfiger Is 2019’s GQ Australia Fashion Icon of The Year

Iconic American designer Mr. Tommy Hilfiger was awarded with the 2019 GQ Australia Hall of Fame Award on Thursday November 28, 2019 at a ceremony in Sydney, Australia. The award was presented by Michael Christensen, editor of GQ Australia, and model Georgia Fowler.

Accepting the award, Tommy Hilfiger said: “I would like to thank GQ for giving me the Hall of Fame Award, I'm very honoured to receive such a prestigious award, I only wish I could be there with you and accept it in person.”

Hilfiger added, "I started my brand 35 years ago and we're celebrating the anniversary this year. I'm really looking back, thinking about how phenomenal it's been to be apart of building this brand and how satisfying it is to look all over the world and see people wearing my clothes. I'm still looking at the future, still asking my team, "What should be next?" because we like disruption, and we like to break through."

Hilfiger ended his speech by looking towards the fans, saying: "We couldn't do it without the customers and without the fans, so I'd like to thank all of you, for all of your support, for all of these years."
